counter hit make Cheryl Ho's Blog - You don't wanna miss it

Name's Cheryl Ho, turning 17 on October 12th 2007. Asian from Malaysia. Chinese. Last year of high school in Seafield. Speaking of turning to be a Legal 17, I so bloody can't wait for my license. Well, it's not like I'll own a new car or have a car to drive around, but heck. P license still means I can drive. So shut it.

Yours truly loves shopping, music and designing. I hell dig for great movies and expensive, tasty chocs. Non-smoker. Non-alcoholic. Two best movies I've ever watched? It's gotta be The Prestige and The Holiday. If you haven't watched them, what the hell are you doing with your life?

I love my family and friends to earth. Well I might be a pain in an ass to my family and a stupidly plus retardedly funny irritating friend AT TIMES, but yeah, I know they love me too. (I pay ya'll 5 bucks, just say yes).

I so goddamn adore photography and crave for a D-SLR camera. *ahem* My birthday is not far away, Oct 12, ahem. One of my biggest affection is designing.

I love Tiramisu, Cappucino and Chocolate cakes. Starbucks' Javachip frappucino rocks. I love socialising and parties. I'm hella big fan of Indo Har Mee. No seriously. I am. Enjoy reading me. Oh, and be a darling and do me favour, would you? Click on my pretty ads, they'll make you prettier. Trust ME.

    I Am 'Happening'!

I had one week and three days free from work. But I didn't have anything much to do. I stayed at home for 6 days consecutively and became a computer geek. Morning wake up; computer. Afternoon after lunch; computer. Evening; computer. After dinner; computer. Night; computer. Computer from morning till morning.

    WTF.

    Never mind.

Friday and Saturday was 'happening'! I chilled out for only 2 days and I have a gazillion photos for you to view. This time when I said gazillion, I seriously mean a gazillion!

It was a Friday night's out with my girlfriends and bunch of whacky kids boys. We chilled at Asia Cafe, had dinner together, chit chatted and played some pool. Actually, not some. We played almost more than 15 games altogether!

Anyhoo, initially, it was supposed to be a damn happening hang out la.. supposed to meet at 6:30pm and such.

    But, fuuhhhh.........

Never knew Malaysian timing could go that much worse. From 6:30pm as planned, all turned up close to 8:00 - 8:30pm. Sigh..

Michelle, Brenda and I had to leave way earlier cos my dad didn't wanna get stuck in the traffic, so we pretty much arrived around 5:40pm.

We were, of course, smart enough to take a chill pill @ Burger King first while waiting for the others to arrive (which felt like forever).

    Damn budget, I know.

3 people go, but only buy 1 drink. Somemore take 3 straws. Typical budget freaks. Blame us not, we were in serious tight budget okay.

At long last, Gillie rang us up and that's when we went back to Asia Cafe to meet up with her. The guys arrived about an hour later or so after her.

Definitely, outings with Michelle and Brenda, confirm got fcking alot of pictures. Luckily my camera got 1GB memory card, or not gone. Lol!

All wanted to take pics without flash, but this is what you get lah if your hands are not steady.

Okay. It's getting quite annoying already. All the nice pictures are turning out blur. Can we either just use the flash or get a tripod?? I should bring my tripod along next time.

From left to right, Cheryl, Brenda, Gillian, Michelle. Asia Cafe's 'Chao Sang Mee' (Fried Sang Mee) is damn good. I practically order that almost everytime I go there. You should try. =)

After some chit chatting and some a lot of lame jokes, we decided to play a few rounds of pool. Considering that it was quite a big group of us, we opened 2 tables to play.

That's myself and Michelle. We love pool.. okay, fine. I love pool and if I had the money, I'll definitely buy a pool table to be fitted in my house! Shut up Brenda, I know you already got one. Don't action you bum! Hmmmph! =P

Missing Michelle In Action wei! (IM freaks will understand this lame shit.)

Gillian's moving away.. okay not exactly moving. More specifically, she's flying away. To Australia.

Screw Australia lah.. What does Australia has that Malaysia doesn't huh?

Other than hot guys, pretty beaches, nice new studying environment, getting to know more friends, tasty chocolates and candies (according to Gillian that is), part time jobs where they pay you like 6-8 Aussie dollars and hour, getting to skip SPM and not stress out in Malaysia's fcking hot weather almost every single day, I don't see why you wanna leave girl!

Okay. You can tell me to shut up.

But heck I'm soooo goddamn gonna miss you to earth, Gillie!

From left, Michelle, myself, Brenda and Gillian.

Okay, now some super camwhore picture gonna appear. Like said, got Michelle means got camwhore!

Everywhere Michelle and I go, people say we look like twins, or perhaps sisters. We still wonder why...

According to Michelle (photographer of this pic), while Michelle was hitting on the count of 3 to snap the pic, Jian was playing around with his mouth like as if he was thinking whether to smile showing his teeth or not.

I guess he chose not to. Still the same ol' Jian, PC 99! ('pan cute kao kao')

Friday night was awesome, I had a blast, especially with my girls! Thank you babes! =)

Saturday was another extraordinary outing with Michelle. Firstly, we had to go the Monash University to sit for our CLD (Continuous Leo Development) Exam.

It wasn't tough though it was subjective. Pretty easy lah, cos I more or less read a few pages of the Leo book before the exam. And it takes only the Leo Pledge to pass the exam!

Oooo yeah man! That's Michelle and I in black blazers sitting for the paper. Some Leos looked so stressed out during the exam. I seriously wonder why...

Michelle and I had our faces going like "c'mon lah.. it's just a Leo exam" thing when we saw the girl next to us panicking like she looked as if she was about to pass out.

We also made new friends that day. They were awesome people. Names are Shelva, Ken and Daniel, all from Monash Uni.

Michelle and I wanted to head for Pyramid after the exam, but Shelva told us it would take about 20 mins to walk from Monash Uni to Pyramid, plus the hot sun, maybe even longer. And to take a cab would most likely cost bloody RM5 cos taxi drivers at that area are being such jack asses just because Monash Uni has a lot of foreign students. Mind you, Monash to Pyramid by car would take less than 5 mins. RM 5 for that is bullshit.

That was when we met Ken, who offered us a ride to Pyramid. He was dropping off Daniel too anyway. It was really sweet and we appreciate it loads. Just take a look at the sun, and you will understand how much that ride meant to us lah.

Big THANKS to KEN, DANIEL and SHELVA for the AWESOME HELP! You guys are wonderful people! Go Leos! =D

As we entered Pyramid's main entrance, there was........

Yah. TEEN TITANS. With life-sized dolls dancing and screaming around on stage.

OMG, the horror! Mind you, the event actually went on for a few hours! From the moment we arrived, till the moment we left Pyramid, they were still jackassing on stage! Energetic?

    Very!

We went shopping!! YESS!! Shopping when you have no money is the worst thing that could happen to a girl. Trust me.

We went MNG and Michelle was so goddamn in love with this long sleeve top, which costs RM79! Pretty top, but plain and I felt it doesn't worth her RM79 (though she didn't have that much at that moment). Thank God she didn't buy it. YET.

Vincci was our next stop! Yeeeeeeee-haaaaa! I was looking for some pretty and comfortable flats and guess what I found?

I adored it sooooo much just from the first look at it. But I was still considering whether to get it or not as you know, I'm in a tight.

So I had no choice but the leave the pretty babies back at it's rack and walk around first.

More pics of the both of us ahead.

The background blue blue white white colour, looks like passport photo man. Luckily got two people in the picture.

We were actually in a fitting room. We wanted to try some tops which were at a quite good bargain from a shop. But we guessed that no fittings are allowed for the garments.

We still insisted to try our luck anyway. So we went over to the lingerie area and pretended to fit in for bras.

Damn it, the salesgirl quite smart. Asked us to leave our tops down first before entering the fitting room. Lol..

But never mind, we still acted along. Took the bras acting like we really want the bras, and went in the fitting room together and I could see the salesgirl's face was spelling...

    W-T-F!

Try bra go in one fitting room together. Actually it's not rare, right? Anyhoo, we didn't even bothered to try the bra. Michelle and I just went in and Mich decided to test her camwhore skills.

You know how serious camwhores can actually take a picture of themselves through the mirror without having their cameras being visible? No?

Okay, go Friendster and take a look. Got damn alot.

Anyway, yes. Michelle wanted to try and see if she had the skills. But guess not lah.

We gave up. Not fun. Cannot get any nice pics. Failed as camwhores! Wait, compliment or insult? Lol..

After a few hours of shopping, we decided to leave the mall and head for dinner back at Taipan USJ.

We went to the newly opened cafe at Taipan called the Leo's Cafe. They have quite a variety of food , like Asian, Western and such, all for a pretty reasonable price. They also have bakery, ice creams aka gelato, coffee, smooties, ice blendeds, alcohol and liquor.

    Yes, LIQUOR.

That's what I ate, Shredded Chicken Hor Fun which costed only RM3.80 and tasted pretty okay. Not too bad. Quite a lot of meat inside for a RM3.80 meal.

Michelle ate that, Nasi Lemak, RM3.30. Quite a big serving of rice though. And the keropoks were tasty! Lol..

We took out all the vegetable from our meal. Don't misjudge me okay, I eat vegetables. Just that I didn't like those that they served in my 'hor fun'.

There's a special name for it, but I forgotten. It's iced strawberry anyway. Tasted really really good! We loved it..! Iced Strawberry at Leos Cafe for RM4.80.

Then we chit chatted and our mouth felt itchy, like we hadda chew on something while chit chatting. So we ordered.....

Their French Fries are super duper good! Damn big serving too! And only for RM3.80. It's less oily compared to Mc'Donalds French Fries, so I quite prefer this over Mc'Ds fries.

    WTH.

I'm like doing free promotion for Leos Cafe. Lol, but seriously lah, their food are not bad. I'll go there again one day to try out other stuffs. =)

Mich and I had an awesome conversation, as usual, for about like 3 hours long or so. Too bad it ended so soon, cos daddy called and he and mom was just around the block, so we hadda leave.

We tried taking a photo while we were walking.....but.....

....yeah.. some super cool unintentional effects we had! Looks damn cool if you would ask me. Looks like some film strips flying around and stuff. But actually we were just walking along the pathway. LOL!

That's what it supposed to turn out, without the unintentional effects. Haha!

Nevertheless, a shopping day is never one if you don't buy something!!

YEEEEEEEEE-HAAAA! My pretty babies! I got them for RM29.90 from Vincci okay. Not that cheap for a pair of flats lah, but heck I don't care. They're so fcking sweeeeeet!

Simple and sweet. Love it. =)

Michelle and I got ourselves some Abercrombie baby tees too!

Some serious good bargain for our tops man. Just a simple casual baby tee which I think I need quite a lot of new ones now. This was the one that was 'NO TRYING' allowed, but heck we still bought it.

    Most importantly,

    It fitted!!

Yes, fats, I know. Never mind. Hot guys like fat girls. I stand strong with my statement!!  =)

Saturday's outing with Michelle was just super duper fun, as usual. It's always fun with Mich. Tee hee..! Thanks fren!

Told you that I'm 'happening'. And that I have a gazillion photos. It was a lot of photos, right? =)

And to add to that, I'm now broke! In a tigther budget now. Dammit.

    Yours truly,
    Cheryl, I slept at
3:30am and woke up at 8:30am. Use your smart brains and what do you think I'll be going to do now?

My Wella Hairdo and Past Hair Histories

I remembered the first time I spent a bomb doing my hair. It was back in year 2004 when I was just about to finish Form 2.

I paid more than 200 bucks to get my hair straightened. Yes, straightened. And 200 over bucks was a huge amount for a small lil' me back then (actually it still is now).. Lol. Mind you, straight hair was in back then okay.

From Hilary Duff's pic, you can definitely tell that it's taken waaay back time. Cos Duff's way skinnier than that now. She looks aneroxic, I'm sure you can tell the difference.

Oh, not to forget, Asian celebs also had straight hair back then!

Mind you, in the picture above it says 1856 at the background, but the pic's not taken then.

See! I told you straight hair was in. Thus, my straightened hair.

That's Gillian, myself and Becky from left to right back in last year where we were celebrating my 15th birthday. My two besties are fcking hot and I know I'm not. Too bad, Cheryl.

Gillian's the Seventeen Covergirl Winner 2005 and Becky aka Rebecca is Seventeen's Covergirl Winner 2006, yes, this year. My girls just rock, don't they?

My straight hair back then, no kidding, you can see how bloody straight it is. And my hair was freakin' long, it was like near to my ribs. Long, straight, flat, dark hair, fcking pontianak like that. Enough said.

Excuse the quality of the picture. This was long ago when digital cameras didn't exist in my life. =)

Last Friday, November 24th 2006, my sis, Lynn, mom, Michelle and I got our hair done by Wella. We were the only 4 models getting our hair permed that day.

Wooooo... beautiful hair needs an expert. Indeed. =)

It was my 3rd time having my hair permed and it was Michelle's and my 2nd time being a model for Wella. Our last perm by Wella didn't last very long, so they ended up like waves. Surprisingly, my hair texture is not rotten, yet. It's still quite pretty okay. But I admit it has split ends here and there la.

But heck, like always said, "No pain, no gain." Tee hee..

My hairstylist gave me a small-medium curl, long layered perm and Lynn did a new perming style, stag perm (i think).

Yeeeeeeeeee-haaaaa! Curls and waves are in and they so rock! They're pretty and best of all, it's F.O.C.! I don't have to go spending few hundred bucks to get my hair done anymore. Wella will have me good, oh yes they will. =)

So, if you're interested to know my past hair histories in accordance with chronology, you're in luck. Cos I'm in a good mood to share with you my pictures starting from when I was a baby.......

Okay, first hair history was when I was a few months old, and....

As I grew a liiiiiiill' bigger, that was....

    WTF.

My hair grew soooooo slow like it took lightyears just to grow 1cm longer. So my hair at that moment meant gold to my mom.

When I was about 1 year plus or so...

Sometimes I myself look in the mirror and get confuse of my gender. So little hair... sigh.

Mom was sad that I didn't have much hair. She wouldn't dress me up in skirts or dresses, cos she said I looked like a sick child who lost a lot of hair due to some illness. Sad right?

    Very.

So mom would wear pants on me almost every single time, till my hair grows a lil' prettier.

Time passed and my hair still looks like it barely grew. I found this picture and I figured out that mom must have been very disappointed with my hair.

So she probably wanted to make me look more 'man'  'boy', and so....

Funky parents get funky children! Rock on mom!

But anyway, I understand mom very well. Which mother wouldn't want their daughter to look pretty and cute with soft long hair?

It's alright mom. Just continue praying to God. My hair will grow one day.

After a few months, I suddenly had more hair!! But then, still not long long and pretty pretty like a girl. So I figured out mom didn't know what to do with my hair...

    So.....

This one confirmed gone. Comb one side parting, flat flat like that, exactly like one Cina Pek. Too bad I didn't know Mandarin.

But anyway, looks like mom's starting to get the hang with my amount of hair. She started letting me wear dresses again!

    Don't believe? See below la...

Cute what I wear dress. Mom shouldn't have been too worried last time. Lol..

Another few months passed and I was already about 2 years old or so. That was when....

Not bad, I started looking cuter and more girly as I grew up. God was so kind.

And now I think mom really loves me in dresses!

Funky dress, I know. See, I had good sense of fashion since young. What more can you say.. tsk tsk tsk.

Alright mom, do ya 'thang! We're almost there... almost there. Just a liiiill more hairr!

    Finally.............

Indeed he did! At last, I don't look like a sick child in a dress!! YESS!

Woooooo....!! I rawked that picture man! Lol.. Well, now I'm sure mom's happy. She can start buying me some Guess Kids skirts and dad used to love buying sis and me pretty Oshkosh clothes.

My hairstyle didn't changed since then till I was about 5 years old. It grew longer till it reached near the chest length. And I suggest we skip my primary hair histories cos they looked so fuggly.

    Lol, don't ask.

Now, let's carry one when I was 13 in year 2003. Mind you, it's a few years back, and I look like a dork. But heck, I'm in a good mood so I'll still share it with you.

Okay. Shut up. I know, SUPER DORK. What? I was only 13 la.. And yes, apparently that's my guitar. But if you're wondering if I ever rocked my guitar? No, I haven't before. I suck at playing it. =)

Then, I got my hair straightened in November 2004, which you have already seen above in the first picture. But in case you forget my face, and since I love my besties to earth, I shall upload it again. =)

Not bad, my hair was still really straight after a year past 2004. AT LEAST my money was worth paying la..

Then, my first perm back in October 2005......

That was my longest lasting perm. It was a digital perm since October 2005 and the curls were still pretty after 8-9 months. Wooo hoo!

    And my second hair perm...

...by Wella. Yes, it was free of charge too. But too bad didn't last very long, like for bout 4-5 months or so. Never mind, it was free. Lol..

And after that, it's my 3rd hair perm which is now my current hairstyle as you have already seen at the very first part of this post.

But then again, in case you forget how I look like one more time...

    Nahh.. for you. =)

    Yours truly,
    Cheryl's hair, all growned up.

    Fashion Week (KLFW) 2006

No, I did not go for the event but yes, KLFW's Main Designer Showcase is the most-talked about fashion show  by all Asian fashion freaks.

I always see Key Ng's designs here and there, see his adverts and all, but I still have not seen how he actually looks like. I believe Key Ng is designer who lays a low profile. You can't even possibly find his official site on the net to view his collections.

I never adore much of his collections previously, but I have to admit his KLFW's 2006 and Summer/Winter 07 collection this time is freakin awesome.

Fcking awesome piece designed by Key Ng for the KLFW as one of his collections. The first time I saw it, it just wow-ed me. Ruffles and high collars totally made the piece complete, plus the stripes in bright colours just gave it an oh-so-classy look! Stripes are in baby!

And from now on, Key Ng is no longer the "ahhh.. typical local designer only what" to me. My respects to a brilliant and succesful designer, Key Ng!

I know, of all, why Jendela's Batik. But it caught my attention somehow. The satin cloth embredded with diamonds gave an outstanding elegant look. Plus, the colours blended so well.

I don't know, but if you would ask me, the gowns look so...... ummmm... virgin. Ya'know what I mean?

Okay another design that I spotted from the KLFW Runway by Rivon Teh. Though IMHO, I feel that a slight center slit would be very pretty in that design and the shoulder straps were just oddly designed, cos one side's holding and the other side is bare. Odd, but designer's style. Though it makes the runway model's boobs look saggy on one side.

But anyway, this piece isn't my favourite. It caught my eye at first because it looked sooooo much like Austin Scarlett's (Project Runway Season 1) evening gown design. The colour blending and everything is the same. The only thing that's different is the pattern of the floral.

I personally prefer Austin's design over this. And yes, I can still remember the designs since Season 1 of Project Runway okay..

Okay, conclusion is, I so fcking love the ruffled-collar design by Key Ng! =)

By the way, I just found out that Daniel Vosovic (Project Runway Season 2's top 3 finalist) is gay. Yes, Michelle, he is gay. He has a boyfriend named Kieran, who is freakin cute! Hotter than himself.. lol.

I know! How saddening.. hottest designer throughout the season but turns out to be not straight. Anyway, why can't straight guys have good sense in fashion designing?

    Yours truly,
Cheryl, I will own my label one day. you just wait..

    Last Day @ Black Canyon

Indeed it was, my last day of work at Black Canyon Coffee. The best thing to hear after you end your job is how your manager just holds your arm gently, pulling you a little closer to her softly, and telling you that you are a good staff, a good part-timer that you can feel all her sincerity, saying that if she could choose, she'll surely not let you go, that she would definitely want you to go back there and work again someday, letting you know that there is always a vacancy for you. And that is when my dear, you will know that what you have worked for so much, wasn't only for the cash.

Yes, I earned more than just money. I earned a compliment.

Ahhh, it felt great hearing that. I never felt so appreciated, though it is a pity that I really am leaving the place.

Last day of work never ends without some picture memories (especially when you have a camwhore like Michelle working with you).. lol.

Okay this time the picture is really taken by me, no more borrowing and crediting other people. Lol..

I snapped this photo during my 3 hours break, hell of a damn long break I have to admit. That clock is indeed the 'Gold' in the place, your 'life' depends on it. Go back early, gone. Come to work late, gone.

Tick tock tick tock tick tock like that, quite stressful. But guess we won't be seeing it for quite some time already.

Don is my manager! And she rox, yeah man! She's a Thai, and speaking in Thai is something damnnn challenging man.

Cos everytime I learn a new word, in less than 3 minutes I bloody forget the word. I know, I'm fcking stupid.

And now I have my new fav workmate, Abid Ali!! I don't like baristas anymore cos they gave me so many different kinds of drinks the other day to try like Mocha Glacier, Iced Cappucino, Iced Chocolate, Chiangmai Paradise, Strawberry Delight and Phuket Paradise till I had a terrible stomach cramp and felt like puking. Lol...

Service crew peeps, yes we're the ones who serve your food on a round tray with only one hand supporting it. I know, we're skillful people.

The service crew again.. from left, Ali, Nyi and Mich.

I cannot deny that Si Thu is fcking funny.. he is practically expressionless most of the time, no matter what happens. But when he laughs, gone, like goofy.

The picture describes it all. =)

    And..........

...a pic of Michelle and I before we say goodbye! =) Toodles all!

*only beef*.. sry. forgive the randomness. michelle just reminded me bout the movie White Chicks. *only beeeeeeef*

    Yours truly,
Cheryl, i just ate a 'yao char kuai'......
